Texas A&M University is joining a conference that's regarded as the strongest football conference in America.
Teams are located in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas.
Texas A&M is expected to play in the western division which will put the Aggies in the same division as LSU.
The Tigers have long been a rival of Texas A&M and the two teams have faced off 50 times. LSU will be the closest SEC opponent, 363 miles from Kyle Field.
The second closest SEC school is the University of Arkansas, 514 miles away from B/CS. The Aggies and Razorbacks have gone toe to toe 67 times.
Then we get to Mississippi and Ole Miss. 567 miles from the friendly confines of Kyle Field, Ole Miss and A&M have only faced off four times.
Also in Mississippi is Mississippi State. At 577 miles from Aggieland, the Bulldogs and Aggies have only met up five times.
Then there's Alabama. It's a college football powerhouse and 632 miles from the home of Texas A&M.
And finally at 780 miles away is Auburn. Another team with a lot of history just not much against Texas A&M.
