Aggie Soldier's Body Returns to Aggieland on Independence Day

The body of an Aggie soldier killed last week will return to College Station on this Independence Day.

Army Lieutenant Colonel Roy Lin Tisdale, 42, died June 28 after being shot by a fellow soldier at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The Alvin native graduated from Texas A&M. He served tours in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.

According to Tisdale's mother, Linda, her son's body will arrive in Austin around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, then will be brought back to College Station via Highway 21 to Highway 47. The convoy will turn onto FM 60 (University Drive), and then go through the A&M campus. After passing the Bonfire Memorial, Tisdale's body will be taken to Memorial Funeral Chapel at 2901 South Texas Avenue in College Station.

Visitation will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Services will take place Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church in College Station, followed immediately by burial at the Aggie Field of Honor.
