Benjamin Knox ’90 Unveils Painting For The MSC at Texas A&M

The painting was commissioned by the Houston A&M University Mother’s Club to be on permanent display in the new Aggie Mom’s lounge of the recently renovated Memorial Student Center, located on the Texas A&M University campus. The unveiling of “Sheltering Oaks” is open to the public and will be held in the Memorial Student Center, Room L526 (adjacent to Board of Regents office) at 2:30 in the afternoon on Saturday January 19, 2013. Benjamin Knox and members of the Houston A&M University Mother’s Club will be present for interview.

“Sheltering Oaks is a depiction of a beautiful spring day picnic, surrounded by the bluebonnets and wild paint brush flowers of the Brazos Valley. The Texas A&M University skyline is visible in the distance, framed by the graceful trunks of live oaks. The scene is symbolically inviting and sheltering for the viewer, and it enriches the senses with nature and peace.”
