It's a new era and a new look.
Texas A&M's Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park opened its gates to fans for Friday night's season opener against the University of Illinois-Chicago.
It boasts a beautiful new entry, new seats, new luxury suites and is basically a college stadium second to none.
Aggie Baseball fans are enjoying their new digs at the diamond.
It's a new look to a longstanding landmark in Aggieland.
Blue Bell Park is now the home for Aggie Baseball after a $24 million renovation.
It's been worth the wait for Texas A&M Grad Student Amanda Boswell.
She waited an hour and a half to get tickets.
"Olsen is really the place to be for me. This is where my husband and I met and so it's really special to us," said Boswell.
Cherie Sajewski of Iola brought A&M's newest and maybe youngest spectator.
Her 15-month-old grandson Colton is making his first game.
"We come every year to opening day and it's so exciting to have a new park can't wait to see it. Hearing great things about it and just knowing that we're ranked so high and going to be a great season," said Sajewski.
News 3 was told construction is about 95 percent complete here at Blue Bell Park and fans will be able to see the action better as home plate is closer to the first row of seats.
Crews were still working as fans lined up before the game.
Grad Student Jeff Kornegay donned a hardhat after a movement began on TexAgs.com.
"There's a group of guys around that are safety first I guess since there's still a little bit under construction here. We're all wearing hardhats," Kornegay said.
There have been some adjustments for fans as well.
Jerry Wonnacott of College Station lost his long time seats due to the construction. He and his wife have been season ticket holders for about 20 years.
"Our seats before were in section 120 right directly behind home plate so that we could sit there and call balls and strikes with the umpire," he said.
"Plan on making a lot of trips here," added Cherie Sajewski.
The newest crown jewel of college baseball is open for business
Construction is expected to be completed by early March.
