*6 P.M. Update*

There is breaking news involving a former candidate for Texas A&M Yell Leader.

Samantha Ketcham pleaded guilty Wednesday afternoon to stealing two bicycles from the A&M campus.

The Brazos County Attorney says Ketcham was sentenced to deferred adjudication.

She'll be on one year probation, and if she stays out of trouble the charges will be removed from her record.

News 3 saw Ketcham in the Brazos County Courthouse Wednesday morning but she had no comment prior to her plea.

Texas A&M Police arrested her in May of last year after they say she stole two bait bikes being used in a stolen bike sting operation.

Ketcham unsuccessfully ran last year to be the first-ever female Yell Leader.

As part of her plea, she's also required to write a essay on the Aggie Code of Honor.

Ketcham has maintained her innocence with her mom telling us last year it was a mistake and her daughter thought she was picking up friends' bikes.

Ketcham's defense attorney Steve Gustitis tells us they will still have to review a plea agreement if one is offered, but haven't made a decision yet.

She could face probation if convicted of the misdemeanors.

It's unclear when her next court appearance will be.
