HOUSTON – An Aggie who used to dance during basketball games at Reed Arena will now be strutting her stuff at Reliant Stadium.
Sarah Carruth is one of 34 women chosen for the 2014-2015 Houston Texans Cheerleaders squad. The former captain of the Aggie Dance Team graduated from Texas A&M in 2013 with a degree in Civil Engineering. She now works for BP America.
Carruth faced some stiff competition. More than 1,000 women signed up for tryouts, the largest turnout since the squad was formed in 2002. Among the hopefuls were members of last year’s squad and several contestants who were trying to make it for a fourth time.
“A dream come true, countless answered prayers, and one of the most special nights of my life for so many reasons,” said Carruth.
