U.S. Congressman Bill Flores, of District 17 congratulated senior students at Texas A&M University Thursday night and gave the commencement convocation for the Texas A&M Class of 2013.

Flores took to the podium touting A&M's history of academic achievement, service attitude, and ability to produce leaders. Much of his speech pointed out the value that Texas A&M and its Aggies have to their community and to their country.

Asking for a "Whoop" from the audience at the Rudder Complex, Flores said it was an honor to give the commencement address, noting that it was "...a great day to be a Texas Aggie."

More than 7,000 students are expected to graduate this weekend with a degree in some form, including more than a thousand graduate level degrees - a new record for the university.
