COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M Equestrian Assistant Coach Beth Bass announced recently the signing of Libby Schneider to a National Letter of Intent to compete with the Aggie horsemanship team.

“With Libby’s extensive show experience, abilities and accomplishments, we feel that she will have a tremendous impact on our horsemanship squad,” Bass said. “We are excited that she has chosen to be an Aggie and we look forward to her joining us in the fall.”

From Logan, Kans., Schneider is already a standout in the horsemanship arena, winning the 2012 National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA) World Novice Youth Championship, taking Novice Youth Reserve Champion honors at the 2012 All-American Quarter Horse Congress (AAQHC), and being named the 2013 Kansas Quarter Horse Association All-Around Youth Champion after winning numerous all-around an circuit awards at all major American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) circuits.

The high school senior has also seen success on the hunter seat side of the sport, placing in the top 10 in Youth Hunt Seat Equitation at the 2012 AAQHC, and finishing in the top five in Youth Hunt Seat Equitation at the 2012 NSBA World Show.

“This is truly an honor to be a part of the Texas A&M equestrian team,” Schneider said. “I am looking forward to joining an elite group of students and athletes, and working with a tremendous coaching staff and team. The camaraderie, along with tradition and pride, will make this an opportunity of a lifetime, and I’m excited to start this journey.”

Schneider will graduate from Logan High School in June of 2014, where she is valedictorian and is involved in several extracurricular activities including FFA, the LHS Technology Committee, the LHS Dance Team and the National Honor Society. Also a standout in the classroom, Schneider is on the LHS Honor Roll, is a Wichita State Presidential Scholar and has been honored with a Scholastic Medallion.

Outside of school, Schneider is also involved in 4-H, Kansas Association for Youth, Buglers Across America, Daughters of the American Legion, Kansas Quarter Horse Youth Association (President) and the United States Equestrian Federation. She is the daughter of Lloyd and Judy Schneider, and trains with Chad and Barbie Evans of Parker, Colo.
