It's a competition with stakes as big as the Big 12 itself.
Texas A&M and Texas Tech are going head to head in a social media contest and the winner gets to paint the losers town in its school colors.
"I think it's really cool because we're so spirited and I'm sure we'll win," said A&M Senior Rachel Orr.
Orr is confident Texas A&M can defeat the Red Raiders in just about anything, even social media.
The Aggieland Outfitters stores in College Station are in a Facebook face-off with Texas Tech's student store and the stakes are a huge.
If the Texas Tech fan base wins this Facebook competition, they'll have the Red Raider flag flying high in Aggieland at the Aggieland Outfitter store in Southgate. That's something Aggie fans and alumni do not want to see happen.
"We do not want to see that flag to fly here in Aggieland at all," said former student Kyleigh Parker.
"I can't imagine us having to fly a Texas Tech flag. Ugh," said Orr.
Heather Okonski with Aggieland Outfitters is a little nervous about the current closeness of the competition.
"That's why we really need everyone's support to help push this contest so we don't ever have to see a Texas Tech flag fly in College Station," said Okonski.
Some fans are going so far as to recruit the help of their sworn enemy. I mean the enemy of your enemy can be your friend, even if it's your enemy right?
"Everyone is trying to get the Texas fans to support the other school one way or another," said Okonski.
And don't even think that you can disgrace the opposing school's flag if it happens to hang high in Aggieland.
"There is no way that you can fly the flag upside down or deface the flag. We don't want any sore losers," said Okonski..
It simply comes down to who has the most spirit and that's something Aggies can't possibly lose.
"That would be pretty bad, pretty embarrassing," said Parker.
Keeping the Texas Tech flag out of Aggieland is a pretty simple task. All you have to do is like the Aggieland Outfitters Facebook page by April 8th when the Aggie baseball team travels to Lubbock to take on the Red Raiders.
If the Aggies win the competition, the baseball team will be greeted by a Texas A&M flag flying high in Lubbock as they open up their series.
