Mumbai, India -- A Boeing 737 that was abandoned and left in the middle of a busy road in Mumbai was removed on Thursday night.
The decommissioned aircraft had been blocking the road for days after being left there by its driver, who took a wrong turn and got lost as he was transporting the plane to New Delhi.
The plane, which had had its engine, wings and tail removed was on route to a flight training school.
The abandoned plane had become something of a local attraction as curious onlookers gathered around, fascinated by its interiors and engineering design.
One man was seen using his camera-phone to photograph the rare site of an aircraft parked in the middle of the road.
The plane had also been causing traffic congestion as motorists struggled to pass the huge aircraft.
"Because of this plane there is a huge crowd and there is just no system in place to manage traffic here," said one local resident.
