A new version of a famous TV series about big oil money in Texas will be generating $1,000 a day for Dallas County.

County commissioners on Tuesday approved an agreement with the company behind the updated version of "Dallas" to shoot scenes inside county buildings.

Horizon Scripted Television has agreed to pay a $25,000 security deposit, plus $1,000 per day of filming.

Texas native Larry Hagman is reprising his lead role as conniving oilman J.R. Ewing in the new version of "Dallas," to air on TNT.

Filming began in October and is expected to wrap up later this month. Dallas County officials expect the agreement to generate as much as $10,000.

TNT has ordered 10 episodes of the series, expected to air this summer.
