After years of serving the Brazos Valley, a local dance hall has officially shut its doors. The Texas Hall of Fame has been a part of our area for over 33 years.

According to a statement on the Hall of Fame's website and Facebook site, the establishment has closed by the wish of founder Johnny Lyon who died last year.

The site explains the Hall was to close after the New Year's Eve performance, but once that information was released prematurely, the family felt they had no choice but to close immediately.

Aaron Watson was to have been the entertainer for the New Year's eve bash.
