DALLAS (AP) Three county employees disagree on whether a judge who cited the Dallas County district attorney for contempt of court made disparaging comments about him afterward.
One of them, fired county employee Jill Reese, told a courtroom Friday that she heard Judge Lena Levario say she would serve Craig Watkins "on a silver platter to the FBI." Reese said Levario said that at lunch with her and two other employees.
But the other two testified Friday they don't remember hearing that.
Levario cited Watkins for contempt after he refused to answer questions about his office's prosecution of an oil heir for mortgage fraud. After a day-long hearing, another judge is to decide Monday whether to remove Levario from the case.
Watkins could face jail time if found guilty of contempt.
