Oklahoma City Woman Found Dead, Son Arrested

OKLAHOMA CITY Oklahoma City police say officers checking on the welfare of a woman found her dead in her apartment and her son has been arrested.

Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow says the body of 60-year-old Ocie Hardeman was found about 1 a.m. Monday in her apartment on the city's northwest side.

Wardlow says the woman's son - 38-year-old Fredric Hardeman - was at the scene when officers arrived. Wardlow says Hardeman was taken into custody and later arrested for first-degree murder.

Wardlow did not know if Hardeman has yet hired an attorney.

Police did not release a suspected cause of death and Wardlow says investigators are still working to determine a motive.
