James Henry Reed, 48, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008 in Houston. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at West Union Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. U.L. Green officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetary. Visitation will be Friday, May 2, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Jones-Washington Mortuary.
James was born on May 1, 1959 in Bryan, Texas.
He was preceeded in death by Melvin Morris Reed and Patrida LaShun Reed.
He is survived by his sons, Anthony Jagnay Reed and wife, Shayla Reed of Austin; daughter, Kimberly Latrice Reed of Killeen; and brother, Anthony Charles Reed of Bryan; sisters, Kathy Renee Benford, Stehpanie Lorraine Reed both of Bryan and, Karen Annette Prehommie of Paris, France, Shunda Elizabeth Herrera and husband, Vincent, of Alexander, Alaska, and Alicia Ka'Shun Johnson of Houston; parents, James Edward Reed and Charles Marie Reed, both of Bryan, and grandchild, JaKorien St. James Reed of Killeen.
Memorials may be made to West Union Missionary Baptist Church.
