Services for Mary Helen Cole, 89, of Franklin will be held on Saturday, May 10, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Franklin. Jesse Cope and Rev. Jim Manning will officiate. Burial will folow in the Cole Family Cemetery in Franklin.
Ms. Cole passed away on Wednesday, May 7, at her residence. She was born on May 30, 1918 in Neruna, Texas to Thomas F. and Margaret Taylor Martin. She was a graduate of Lometa High School and was a retired hairdresser and housewife. She married Luther E. Cole on February 27, 1944 in San Angelo, Texas. She was a resident of Franklin for 60 years previously living in San Angelo. Ms. Cole was a member of the First Baptist Church in Franklin and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #311 in Franklin.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Patsy Cole of Franklin; two daughters, Mary Cole of Franklin, Liz and husband, Dale Turney of Comanche, Okla.; sister, Margueritte McInnis of Menard, Texas; brother, J.D. Martin of Lampassas, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Tommy Cole, Bobby Cole, Mandy Foster, Mary Bush, Molly Smitherman, Mary Werner, Ruth Owens, Clay Turney, Daniel Jones and Phillip Jones; 13 great-grandchildren, Holden Cole, Caylee Cole, Cason Cole, Sarah Werner, Gracie Werner, Jacob Werner, Cole Foster, Kaden Foster, Kye Foster, Josh Bush, Jake Bush, Taylor Smitherman and Collin Smitherman.
Donations may be made to the Franklin Carnegie Library or the First Baptist Church in Franklin.
