Johnson, Ela May 7, 1920-May 5, 2008 Miss Ela Johnson, 87, of Wixon Valley, Texas passed away Monday, May 5, 2008 in College Station. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at New Bethlehem Baptist Church in Wixon Valley, Texas with the Rev. A. David Ellison officiating. Interment will follow at the New Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 9, at Jones-Washington Mortuary. Ela was born May 7, 1920 in Wixon Community. Her profession was food service, where she worked at Booker T. Washington School, John M. Moore School, Fairview School and Bryan ISD (Lamar and Stephen F. Austin). She retired from Bryan ISD in 1996 after 28 years of service. During the summer she worked for Camp Arrow Moon and J.H. Estelle 4-H camp in Huntsville, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Luin McGee and Eula Johnson; and brothers, Ocie McGee and Johnnie McGee. She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Donald Ray Johnson and wife, Ethel; two grandchildren, Brianna and Dondre' Johnson of Bryan; sisters, Ola Kearney of Bryan; Amanda McHenry of Ft. Worth; brothers, Claborne and wife, Patsy McGee Sr. of Wixon Valley, Texas; W.C. and wife, Rose McGee of Ft. Worth; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, P.O. Box 6452, Bryan, Texas 77805.
