July 4, 1950 - April 30, 2008
Hazel Marie Witherspoon, 57, of Franklin passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10 at South New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin. Interment will follow at Owensville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Friday at Glenn Mack Funeral Home in Hearne. A wake will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at South New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
Hazel was born on July 4, 1950 in Franklin, Texas. She worked in civil service for ten years and worked for GTE customer service for 18 years until her health required her to retire.
She was a member of North New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin.
She is survived by her mother, Almeta Henry; son, Shannon and wife, Katrina Witherspoon; daughter, Coquise Buard Griggs; brothers, Melvin and wife, Tifani Witherspoon, Thurman and wife, Frances Witherspoon III, Roosevelt and wife, Brenda Witherspoon, Michael Darnell and John Carroll; sister, Johnnie Witherspoon; special friend, Elmer Buard; six nieces, seven nephews and several great nieces, nephews and cousins.
