Mary Frances Stevens, 72, of Bryan passed away on Monday, June 29, 2009 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at Hillier Funeral Home. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, July 2, at A&M Church of Christ. Burial will follow the church services at Cox Family Cemetery in Old Union, Texas. Mary lived most of her adult life in Bryan. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. Mary especially cherished and loved her grandchildren and those she thought of as her own grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time quilting and watching her flowers grow. Mary had many friends and family members that loved her and will greatly miss her. She retired from the Brazos Valley Council of Governments after many years of service as an administrative assistant. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Hazel Calhoun; brother, Jack L. Calhoun; and sister, Katie Calhoun. Survivors include her loving husband of more than 52 years, Norman Stevens of Bryan; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Misty Stevens of Bryan; grandchildren, Sydne, Austin and Kynlee, all of Bryan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Olene and Jim Reaves of Shepherd and Kathy and Floyd Crain of Bryan; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Sheila Calhoun of Houston, Donald and Sue Calhoun of Bryan and David and Lois Calhoun of Bryan; sister-in-law, Nancy Spikes of Franklin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
