Aggie/Longhorn Divide Reaches A&M Football Team

The Lone Star showdown is intense.

It splits the state of Texas. It can test friendships. It can even divide families.

There are some interesting examples of how the rivalry can effect families on the Aggie roster. Take Ryan Swope for example.

He is A&M leading receiver, his brother Louie is a defensive back on the team, but their dad is a Texas graduate.

These day's the Swope's dad is sporting Maroon and there is no doubt he will be pulling for his boys tonight.

Another interesting division in the rivalry involves Aggie tight end Hutson Prioleau.

While he has been blocking and catches passes for the Aggie offense this year, his girlfriend Elizabeth has been going to school at Texas.

The two have been dating since high school and believe it or not they went to rival high schools.

Prioleau admits Elizabeth does support him, but she may want to see her school win tonight in what be the last meeting between the schools for a long time.

"I think I do more trash talking than she does," says Prioleau.

"She says she doesn't care but whenever they win and we might lose she will throw a little jab at me here and there. After last Thanksgiving I talked a fair amount of trash to her the past year so hopefully this year we beat them and I will have the bragging rights for lord knows how long."
