COLLEGE STATION Fans coming to Kyle Field this season will be some of last thousands to see it as it stands now. Nearly half a billion dollars in renovations are already underway outside the stadium, clearing the way for redevelopment.
The biggest change? The demolition of G. Rollie White Colliseum, Kyle Field's next door neighbor for decades.
50 years worth of memories from Aggie basketball... volleyball... graduations and concerts are all that remain. Demolition started over two weeks ago.
The bricks were the first to be torn down from 'Holler House on the Brazos."
Construction crews took their time working around the structure before moving on to the Read Building behind G. Rollie. According to the timeline laid out by the university, this is just the beginning of construction coming to Kyle Field over the next few years.
Lots of Aggie sports memories were made in that building. Aggie Gameday goes In The Zone Saturday with former Aggie Men's Basketball player and coach John Thorton.
