It's all about the future as the Aggies look forward to the SEC, but one of our favorite things to do is take a look back at games past. Looking back through Aggie history, the week of September 8th has been a good one for Texas A&M.

So, we blow the dust off the tapes, make the sure three-quarter inch machine is in working condition, and present this week's Old Army Rewind.

Five years ago in 2007, what many Ags claim to be the longest, hottest day they ever spent at Kyle Field went down when Coach Fran and company hosted Freno State. The Aggies blew a 19--0 halftime lead and ended up going three overtimes with the Bulldogs. The J-train ran for a touchdown and a two point converstion in the third OT as part of a four touchdown day. Tom Brandstater found Bear Pascoe with the Bulldogs answer from nine yards out, but the two point conversion attempt was incomplete, and the Aggies escaped with a 47-45 win.

Ten years back in 2002, the Ags made a long road trip to Pittsburgh and escaped with a narrow win. Derrick Farmer ran for a touchdown in the second quarter and another in the third quarter to give A&M a 14-0 lead. The Panthers rallied, scoring 12 fourth quarter points, but the pass for the two point try fell incomplete and the Aggies escaped with a 14-12 win.

15 years ago, the Aggies opened the 1997 season with a dominating win over Sam Houston State. The Aggies led just 17-6 at the half, but Dante Hall's 50 yard run in the third quarter turned the tide for good. Hall ran for 169 yards and two scores. A&M rolled up 567 total yards in 59-6 victory.

Turn back the clock 20 years and the 7th ranked Aggies took down LSU in baton rouge. A&M led 17-14 after three, and on the first play of the fourth quarter Derrick Frazier picked off a pass. Rodney Thomas scored from 22 yards out on the next play and the Aggies never looked back, beating the Bayou Bengals at Death Valley 31-22.
