This week, five years ago, the Aggies outlasted a two hour lightning delay and then won over Louisiana Tech.
Stephen McGee threw for 318 yards and three touchdown, two to Chris Alexander and a 64-yarder to Kerry Franks as the Aggies bashed the Bulldogs 45-14.
Ten years back, in 2001, Aggies united for the red, white, and blue out at Kyle Field.
The football team showed up as well, keeping Oklahoma State under 200 yards of total offense and getting some big plays on "o" themselves, including this 19-yard Mark Farris to Jamaar Taylor touchdown to break a 7-all tie in the third quarter.
Special teams put it away, as Wes Bautovich blocked the punt and eric crutchfield recovered it for six. The Aggies beat the Cowboys 21-7.
15 years ago this week the Aggies hosted Colorado in the first Big 12 game at Kyle Field. Colorado jumped out to a 14-0 lead with a pair of big plays, the second this 50-yard screen from Koy Detmer to Herchell Troutmann. The Aggies climb back in it with this 13-yard Sirr Parker catch and run for six.
The Buffs get the job done. Detmer and Darren Chiaverini connect for a touchdown before the half and 12th ranked Colorado beats the Aggies at Kyle 24-10.
20 years back, in 1991, then Southwest Lousiana came to Kyle Field and left with a 34-7 loss. The Wrecking Crew was in full force, getting six sacks and recovering five fumbles. Kevin Smith took one of 'em back 63 yards in the second quarter to put the Aggies up 17-0. That was more than enough as the Aggies improved to 2-and-1 on the season.
25 years ago, 14th ranked Texas A&M won a defensive struggle against Southern Miss. After a scoreless first half, the Ags got on the board in the third. Kevin Murray with the 22 yard touchdown pass to Rod Bernstine. The defense did the rest as the Aggies topped the Golden Eagles 16-7.
This week, 40 years ago, #1 Nebraska steamrolled Texas A&M 34-0 in Lincoln. 55 years ago Bear Bryant's eventual Southwest Conference champs shut out Villanova 19-0.
70 years back A&M topped then Sam Houston State Teachers College 54-0.
All the way back in 1926 the Aggies opened the year shutting out Trinity 26-0.
