Texas A&M
Players to Watch - Offense
Ryan Swope
Quarterback Johnny Manziel has gotten most of the attention this season, and rightfully so, but Saturday night keep an eye on senior wide receiver Ryan Swope. This is his final game at Kyle Field and swope would love to give the 12th Man something to cheer about. For the season Swope has caught 57 passes for 758 yards and six touchdowns.
Players to Watch - Defense
Jonathon Stewart
Defensivley we put Jonathan Stewart in the spotlight. The senior from Shreveport is second on the team in tackle with 68. He has also recorded one and a half tackles for loss and five quarterback hurries. Last season against Missouri, Stewart led the Aggies with 13 tackles.
Keys to the game
The Aggies need to continue their fast starts and put some doubt in the Tigers mind. The Ags have scored touchdowns on their opening drives in eight straight games. Missouri has won three straight over A&M so they should have some good fellings heading into Saturday night's game.
The Aggies need to keep the turnovers coming. In the last three games A&M has come up with 6 turnovers. For the season, the Aaggies are still minus six in turnover margin.
Tthe Aggies need to keep their high flying offense airborne. Missouri is 10th in the SEC in pass defense giving up 226 yards per game. Texas A&M is second in the league in passing putting up 308 yards per game
Missouri
Players to Watch - Offense
Kendial Lawrence
When the Missouri offense takes the field keep an eye on running back Kendial Lawrence. For the season he has rushed for 938 yards and 11 touchdowns. Lawrence has also caught 17 paases for 107 yards.
Players to Watch - Defense
Sheldon Richardson
Mizzou defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson should be back in the Tiger lineup Saturday night after being suspended for last week's game against Syracuse for an alleged violation of team rules. Richardson is second of the team in tackles with 70. He has nice tackles for loss and four sacks. Richardson has also forced three fumbles.
Keys to the game
The Missouri offense needs to show some balance Saturday to try and keep the Aggies guessing. For the season, Mizzou leans more toward the pass averaging 346 yards per game through the air with 133 yards on the ground.
The Tigers need to win the turnover battle Saturday night and for the season Mizzou has been pretty good. The Tigers are a plus two in turnover margian for the season which is tied for sixth in the SEC.
If Mizzou gets scoring chances Saturday they have to cash in better than they have this season. For the year, the Tigers are 11th in the SEC putting up points 77 percent of the time they reach they red zone. You have to figure the Aaggies will put up some points Saturday night.
Aggies
Texas A&M has the SEC's top scoring offense putting up 43 points per game. The Aggies have been explosive on offense this season helping accomplish so many first in the program's debut in the SEC. One thing this program has not done in a while is beat Missouri. That is something this senior class would like to do so they can end things the right way in their final game at Kyle Field.
"We have not been successful at doing that against Missouri in the past. It would be nice to end our last game at Kyle Field with a big win against Missouri and also a 10 win season for Texas A&M and the football family," said Texas A&M center Patric Lewis.
"To be completly honest with you I think everyone is going to cry. It is going to be an emotional night but i think it shows a lot of respect to this university. All the guys have put in a lot of hard work and it is going to be a special night for these guys and we want to go out the right way so it is going to be hard to know this is going to be our last game on Kyle Field and to play in this incredible stadium and this incredible atmosphere," said Texas A&M wide receiver Ryan Swope.
Tigers
Missouri comes to College Station 5 and 6 on the year and 2 and 5 in Southeastern Conference play. The Tigers need to win today to become bowl eligible. For the Aggies, Johhny Manziel has made most of the headlines this season but on the other side of the ball defensive end Damontre Moore has had quite a year. He leads the team in tackles with 78 and is third in the nation in sacks averaging 1-point-14 a game. Numbers that have caught the attention of Missouri Head Coach Gary Pinkel.
"He's pretty impressive and his sacks. He is really an active player. You have to know where he is at all times and the problem is he can be about anywhere. He's a great, great player, a big impact player on that defense," said Pinkel.
History
Saturday will be the 13th meeting between Texas A&M and Missouri. The Aggies lead the all time series 7-5 but the tigers have enjoyed success lately in the series. Mizzou has won the last three meetings including the last two years here at Kyle Field. The Aggies last win in the series was back in 2006. The two teams will meet at Faurot Field in Columbia next season.
