TCU has scheduled a news conference Monday for what it says will be a "major announcement" involving its basketball program.
The school's release Sunday gave no other specifics, but a person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press that LSU's Trent Johnson will be introduced as TCU's new coach. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because no official announcement was made.
The news conference comes a week after TCU officials said Jim Christian was leaving after four seasons. Christian returned to the Mid-American Conference, taking the Ohio University job on Tuesday.
TCU is moving next season from the Mountain West to the Big 12 Conference.
Johnson has been at LSU four years. He previously took Nevada and Stanford to the round of 16 in the NCAA tournament.
