BRENHAM, Texas – Titus Rubles scored a team-high 20 points and five Blinn Buccaneers scored in double digits here Saturday night in a 79-66 victory over the Tyler Junior College Apaches.
Joel Wright scored 15, Miles Dixon scored 14, Daishon Knight had 13 and Dre Evans added 11 as Blinn’s men’s basketball team improved to 15-3 on the season and 5-2 in the Region XIV Conference.
Blinn held Tyler to just eight points in the first 10 minutes of the ballgame.
“Early on we did a really good job,” head coach Tra Arnold said. “We just played really good team defense and we were limiting them to just one shot.”
Arnold said it was a complete game for Rubles, a 6-foot-8 forward from Dallas.
“He made some big shots for us, but he rebounded well and also played well defensively,” Arnold said.
Blinn continues conference play on Wednesday when it travels to Paris, Texas for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off with Paris Junior College.
