Blinn College’s baseball and softball teams were named 2012-13 NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year and four athletes were named Academic All-Americans, Athletic Director Scott Schumacher announced today.
The Buccaneer baseball team posted a 3.20 grade point average (GPA) for the 2012-13 school year while the Buccaneer softball team tallied a 3.08. To be considered for all-academic honors, teams must post a team GPA of 3.00.
This is the baseball team’s fourth consecutive year to earn all-academic recognition and the fifth time the team has been honored in the last six years. It marks the third time the softball program has earned academic honors in the past four years.
