BRENHAM, TX -- The Blinn College baseball team has rescheduled its three-game Region XIV Conference series against the Laredo Palominos due to impending weather conditions.
The series was originally scheduled to begin Friday, but thunderstorms are expected that afternoon.
Blinn and Laredo will now open the series with a 1 p.m. double-header on Saturday, then conclude the series with a final game at 1 p.m. Sunday. All three games will be played at Leroy Dreyer Field in Brenham.
Saturday’s double-header will be Blinn’s annual Turn Back the Clock promotion, which brings fans back to the golden age of baseball. The Buccaneers will wear retro jerseys authentic to the Blinn baseball teams of the 1920s, and the ballpark experience will include hot dog vendors selling their wares in the stands for 50 cents and old-time big band, jazz and swing music. Proceeds from the event will benefit Washington County Little League, and Little Leaguers will get the opportunity to join their favorite Buccaneers on the field before the game for the national anthem.
