Blinn Climbs to No. 3 in Latest NJCAA Volleyball Poll

The Blinn College volleyball team climbed one spot to No. 3 in the latest NJCAA Top 20 National Poll released today.

The Buccaneers are 15-0 on the season, with recent wins over Lon Morris College, Frank Phillips College, Jefferson College and a four game win over then No. 3 ranked Salt Lake Community College (25-19, 19-25, 25-15, 25-13).

Blinn features two setters who rank nationally with over 10 assists each per set. Kelsey Schwartz (SO, Brenham) is No. 3 with 10.73 assists per set and Jackie Gerig (SO, Normal Community, IL) is No. 4 with 10.67. Gerig is also second in the nation in hitting efficiency (64%).

The Bucs next travel to face No. 13 Paris Junior College on Thursday, then will participate in the San Jacinto Tournament in Pasadena Sept. 16-17.
