Blinn College Drops Programs

Blinn College is dropping a couple of programs, at least for now, because of lower revenues and interest.

Blinn Board members learned last night that revenues this year are down, mostly due to reductions in state funding.

So far this year, state money for Blinn is down about $1.5 million dollars, compared to the same period last year.

So the Surgical Technology Certificate program at the Bryan campus is being de-activated.

The Blinn Bryan campus is also suspending the Real Estate Certification program for the same reasons.

Blinn says both programs could be reinstated if interest picks up.
