BRENHAM, TX -- Beginning Oct. 7, Blinn College students, employees, alumni and fans will have a place to buy official Buccaneer gear featuring the College’s trademarked athletic logos.

Partnered with Advanced Online, MyBucsGear.com will offer Blinn Buccaneer supporters a wide variety of high quality products to purchase online, including men’s, women’s and youth apparel and athletic wear. The site will also carry a complete inventory of branded merchandise such as mugs, blankets, golf balls, chairs and bags.

“Having an official outlet to offer licensed Blinn athletic apparel and merchandise to all of our fans and supporters is a giant leap forward for the program,” said Director of Marketing and Media Relations Jeff Tilley. “Now Buccaneer fans across the country will have an easy and affordable way to proudly wear or display official Buccaneer merchandise.”

The site, which can also be found at buccaneersports.com, will carry more than 800 total branded items, and will feature periodic promotions on specific items to help entice sales. Each order is processed “on-demand,” meaning that it is printed after each order is made. This is a huge benefit, as the College does not have to purchase large quantities of items in order to get a price break. Most items are printed and shipped within 3-5 business days after the order is placed.

As part of the agreement, Blinn will receive a percentage of the total sales, with a portion of those proceeds benefiting the athletic department. Additionally, Blinn will receive royalties through our licensing partner, which makes it a win-win for the College, according to Tilley.

“With absolutely no overhead required from the College, and several channels of revenue generated through actual sales and royalty fees, it became very clear that this particular partnership gave us a fiscally sound option that also allows us to offer a great service to our fans,” Tilley said.

The Blinn College logos are trademarked and marketed through a licensing agreement with Strategic Marketing Affiliates, Inc. (SMA).
