BRENHAM, TX -- The Blinn College softball team held at No. 8 this week in the latest poll released by the NJCAA. The Buccaneers are 36-5 on the season and 11-1 in conference play.

The Bucs are led by sophomore pitchers Tara Bell (Baytown) and Alyssa Vordenbaum (Pasadena Memorial). In 82 innings pitched this year, Bell (12-0, 5-0) has eleven complete games, including four shutouts, with a 1.45 ERA. Vordenbaum (11-2, 5-1) has only given up 10 runs on the season (0.89 ERA), holding opponents to a .197 batting average.

The Buccaneers next travel to Port Arthur on April 9 to take on Lamar St. College in a double-header starting at 1:00 p.m.
