The 2011 Blinn College Volleyball team won all four matches of the Midland College Kickoff Classic. The tournament field included three teams ranked in the top 15 of the preseason poll.
After opening days sweeps of #14 Temple College and Lee College the Buccaneers played Navarro College and won 20-25, 25-14, 25-17, 25-11. The Bucs were led by Shelby Dickson with 13 kills, Setter Jackie Gehrig's 41 assists, Paige Hamiltonwith 2 aces and Preslie Alexander with 8 blocks.
In the final match of the tournament the Bucs swept host and #8 ranked Midland College 25-15, 25-13, 25-22. Chelsea Soto and Tracee Hamacher led the Bucs offense with 8 kills and Setter Kelsey Schwartz added 33 assists. Kalli Mikulik led the defense with 14 digs and Chelsea Soto added 5 blocks.
The preseason #6 ranked Blinn College (4-0) plays again at home Tuesday at 6pm versus Hill College.
