BRENHAM -- For the first time this season, the Blinn Buccaneer baseball team cracked the top 25 in the national poll, leaping decisively to No. 9 in the latest poll released today by the NJCAA.

The Buccaneers are currently 30-11 on the season and sit alone in first place in Region XIV with a 16-5 conference record. One of the hottest teams in the nation, they are currently riding an 11 game win streak and are winners of 21 of their last 24 contests.

The Buccaneers will look to continue their streak, as they return to Region XIV Conference play on April 16 when they host Laredo for a 1 p.m. double-header at Leroy Dreyer Field in Brenham.

To add to the excitement of the games, Blinn players will take fans back to the Golden Age of baseball as they host the third annual “Turn Back the Clock” event. During the double-header, Blinn players will don throwback uniforms authentic to those actually worn by the teams of the 1920s and 1930s. Local Little League players will also take part, getting on the field and warming up with the Blinn players. Festivities also include music from the era, along with 50-cent hot dogs.
