Blinn men come up short in Region XIV championship game

TYLER, Texas -- No. 6 seed Navarro got past No. 5 seed Blinn 75-69 in the Region XIV Championship game Sunday night to punch their ticket to the NJCAA national tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.

The Buccaneers were playing in their first Region XIV title game and looking for their first trip to nationals.

Joel Wright led the Bucs with 20 points before being called for two technical fouls and getting ejected with six seconds to play in the game.
Daishon Knight scored 16 points, Titus Rubles added 12.

Navarro was led in scoring by Hyjji Thomas with 19.

Blinn wraps up the season with a 28-7 record.
