BRENHAM, Texas – After closing out one of the most remarkable regular seasons in program history, the Blinn volleyball team now focuses in on postseason play, an area in which the Buccaneers have garnered a lot of success in recent years.
At 32-0 on the season, the Bucs still remain the only undefeated team in the NJCAA going into regional tournament play. On Oct. 27, the Bucs swept No. 15 Panola College in three sets (25-17, 25-10, 25-19), to close out Region XIV District K play at a perfect 12-0. It marked the 17th win on the season versus a ranked or previously unranked opponent.
The Bucs next look to take home their eighth regional championship in the past nine seasons, as they host the Region XIV District K Volleyball Tournament this weekend at the Blinn Gym. As the No. 1 seed, the Buccaneers open the tournament this Friday at 5 p.m. versus No. 4 seed Paris Junior College (28-8, 6-6). The winner of that contest will play for the Region XIV-District L Regional Championship on Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. against the winner of Panola College vs. Tyler Junior College.
