BRENHAM, TX -- The Blinn Buccaneers got to work as soon as they got back from the semester break. That hard work paid off Wednesday night as every player on the roster scored in a 90-41 victory over Lone Star College – Cy-Fair.

“I was very happy for them because we’ve practiced seven times now, including three two-a-days, so for everyone to get in the game and score, I was glad for that because they deserve that after how hard they’ve worked,” Blinn (8-7) coach Scott Schumacher said. “Everyone has givenus 100 percent physically and mentally, and I thought our guys played really well.”

Freshman forward Rashaun Stimage led the Buccaneers with 19 points, and everyone on Blinn's roster scored at least five points. Stimage scored 13 of his 19 in the second half.

“He played really well,” Schumacher said. “I thought he played well in the first half too, he just got in some foul trouble. Since we got back, he’s been really good in practice and I thought tonight’s statistics were a direct result of that.”

Schumacher praised the efforts of DeQuentin Greer and Jefferson Ocoro, as well as Martaveous Smith.

“Martaveous played really well in the second half,” Schumacher said.
“He altered shots, got rebounds and had a couple dunks.”
The Buccaneers return to Region XIV Conference play Saturday when they play at Tyler Junior College at 6 p.m.

“It’s time for the gauntlet now,” Schumacher said, “every Wednesday and Saturday.”
