BEEVILLE, Texas – The 14th-ranked Blinn College volleyball team was all but flawless here tonight in a 3-0 sweep of Coastal Bend College.
Blinn won the Region XIV Conference match 25-13, 25-11, 25-13 as everyone on the roster got into the match.
Freshman outside hitter Evely Macedo posted eight kills, three blocks and seven digs, while freshman middle blocker Emily Salter added eight kills and three blocks of her own.
“Emily and Evely did a good job tonight,” Blinn (13-2, 2-1) coach Erin Mellinger said. “There were not a lot of errors tonight.”
In fact, the Buccaneers committed just six hitting errors on the evening. Freshman outside hitter Tyanna Roy and sophomore outside hitter Ksenia Sukhareva each had six kills, while freshman libero Tori Estrada led the defense with eight digs.
Freshman setters Crystal Young and Celeste Ramirez combined for 36 assists. Young led the way with 21.
The Buccaneers, now in the midst of a stretch of seven consecutive road matches, travel to Wharton Tuesday for a 6 p.m. conference match against Wharton County Junior College.
