Bucs open Laredo series with 5-1 win
Hahn K’s eight, Daniels adds four hits in victory

LAREDO, Texas – Kevin Hahn struck out eight batters and Kevin Daniels pounded out four hits to lead the Blinn Buccaneers to a 5-1 victory over the Laredo Palominos here Friday in Region XIV Conference action.

Hahn threw 6 2/3 innings, allowing just one earned run, and Daniels went 4-for-5 with a double and two runs scored.

“It was good to see him do that,” Blinn coach Harvey McIntyre said. “We’ve been waiting on him to get it going and he had the first big hit of the night.”

Hahn got the Buccaneers into the seventh inning before freshman Trent Rape took over with runners on second and third and struck out the first batter he faced to get out of the jam. He struck out two batters and allowed just one hit over 2 1/3 innings.

J.C. Neighbors went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Eric Wood, Hayden Vesely and Tyler Boss tallied the Buccaneers’ other hits.
The win improved Blinn to 12-8 on the season and evened its conference record to 6-6 in Region XIV.

Blinn and Laredo will play a 1 p.m. double-header Saturday to complete the three-game weekend series. Trevor Seidenberger and Christian DeLeon are slated to start for the Bucs.
