Navarro pitching silences Blinn bats

CORSICANA, Texas – The defending national champion Navarro Bulldogs shut out the Blinn College baseball team in both games of a double-header here Saturday.
Navarro took home both victories, 3-0 and 2-0, as the Buccaneers managed just five hits on the day. The losses dropped Blinn to 28-15 on the season.
Jason Simms took the tough-luck loss in Game 1, allowing three earned runs on seven hits. He struck out three over five innings.
All three of Navarro’s runs came with two outs in the second inning.
Jake Kane, Garrett Logan, Eric Wood and Scott Jones each had hits for the Buccaneers.
Trevor Seidenberger took the loss in Game 2 without allowing an earned run. He threw five innings, allowing one unearned run on five hits and a walk. He struck out four.
Wood had Blinn’s only hit in the game.
The Buccaneers travel to Temple Junior College on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. double-header against the Leopards.
