STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma State is the Big 12's best hope at winning a national championship.
The third-ranked Cowboys (8-0, 5-0 Big 12) come into this Saturday night's game against No. 17 Kansas State (7-1, 4-1) trying to reverse a recent trend.
Oklahoma was undefeated before losing at home to Texas Tech two weeks ago, then went on the road to beat K-State a week ago. Of the four Big 12 teams that were undefeated a month ago, only Oklahoma State is left without a blemish.
The Cowboys will be trying to get to 9-0 for only the second time in school history, matching the 1945 team's perfect season.
Unbeaten just a week ago, Kansas State needs a win to stay within striking distance of the Big 12 title.
