Rubles leads Bucs past Bossier Parish
Sophomore forward scores game-high 25 in 67-47 win
BRENHAM, Texas – Sophomore forward Titus Rubles scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Blinn College men’s basketball team to a 67-47 Region XIV victory over Bossier Parish Saturday at the Blinn P.E. Building.
Rubles scored 14 points in the second half as the Buccaneers pulled away after halftime.
“He’s one of the better big men in the league,” Blinn (17-5, 7-4) coach Tra Arnold said. “He was very aggressive tonight and really crashed the boards well.”
Daishon Knight drained four 3-pointers on his way to 18 points and Joel Wright added 10.
Christian Smith led Bossier Parish with 12 points as the Cavaliers fell to 2-20 on the season and 0-11 in Region XIV.
The Bucs led just 31-25 at halftime.
“We didn’t play our best offense early in the game, but we talked at halftime about speeding up the pace and scoring in transition,” Arnold said.
Blinn travels to Athens, Texas on Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off against Trinity Valley Community College.
