McKINNEY -- The Brazos Valley Bombers’ bid for a fourth straight victory is being put on hold, as tonight’s game in McKinney has been called off due to heavy rain storms in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The Bombers scored the go-ahead run in the ninth inning yesterday to defeat McKinney and win their third straight game to move into a tie with East Texas for first place in the Texas Collegiate League.

Since the game was the series finale, there will not be a makeup game between the teams. The Bombers will have tomorrow off before hosting the Marshals on Wednesday in the first of a four game home stand. $2 Margaritas, Daiquiris and Draft Beer will be available for Margaritaville Wednesday night, which is followed by $1 Beer and $0.50 Soft Drink Thirsty Thursday.

The East Texas Pump Jacks will be coming to town Friday for Stars and Stripes Weekend, which is sponsored by the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. Fans will be treated to the biggest fireworks show of the season on Friday as the two star-studded team jockey for position atop the TCL Standings. Astronaut Joe Kerwin will also be throwing out the first pitch on Friday. The following day, 300 lucky fans will receive a Bombers pennant as a part of the first Saturday Giveaways tonight of the season.
