BRYAN- With an attendance of nearly 1500, Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark was hopping tonight as Reggy the Purple Party Dude provided entertainment throughout the game with his on-field antics. Following the game, fans were able to enjoy a spectacular fireworks show for the third Fireworks Friday night of the season.
Reggy made his return to the Brazos Valley and kept fans laughing with his act that has become a tradition at BVB Ballpark over the past three years. The Bombers got behind early in the game and the Victoria Generals never looked back.
The four runs that Victoria put across the plate were all Generals’ pitcher Tyler King needed, as he kept the Bombers’ hitters in check for five strong innings. The southpaw from Hill College allowed just three hits and struck out nine to earn his third win of the season.
Victoria extended the lead in the top of the ninth inning on a two-run double by Creighton Hoke to bring the score to 10-0. The Bombers threatened in their their bottom half of the inning, but were unable to bring a run across the plate.
The Bombers dropped to 13-11 on the season with the loss, but will look to get back on track tomorrow as they face the Generals again for the series finale. The Bombers will be giving away over 300 Pint Glasses for the second Saturday Giveaways night of the season.
