BRYAN, TX -- The Brazos Valley Bombers continued to solidify their status as contenders in the Texas Collegiate League announcing today the signing of Blinn star Isaac Nuti. The Burton native will be a key addition as the Bombers target their first Texas Collegiate League Title in just their fourth season.
The sophomore shortstop led the Region XIV tournament runner-up Buccaneers in nine of ten offensive statistics this season including batting average, triples and stolen bases. Nuti was selected as an All-Region infielder for Region XIV for his outstanding work this year.
Two Texas State Bobcats, Brian Borksi and Morgan Mickan, will be joining the Bombers this summer as well. Borski will look to help the pitching staff this summer by working long innings as a starter or out of the bullpen. Mickan, a University of Texas transfer, will help the Bombers with strong defensive work in the spacious outfield at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark and speed on the base paths.
The team also announced the signing of three Sam Houston State Bearkats today, freshmen Greg Olson, Michael Hilliard, and Andrew Massey. Olson’s .301 batting average and 42 starts lead all Bearkat freshmen while Hilliard and Massey have showcased their talent and focus working out of the bullpen this season.
Additionally, the Bombers are pleased to announce the signing of Josh McElroy from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. Josh has shown tremendous talent and leadership this season starting all of his team’s 59 games while hitting .375 with 51 RBI and stealing 25 bases.
Fans will also be excited to learn that single game tickets are available today, Friday May 28. Fans can handpick their seats for whatever night they decide to come and take a visit to the ballpark, and they will also have the option to print the tickets out right at home! Season tickets are still available and start at $105 and can be purchased online at www.bvbombers.com, or by phone at 979-779-PLAY!
