Bryan -- The Brazos Valley Bombers moved into first place in the Texas Collegiate Standings after beating the Victoria Generals 6 - 1 Saturday night in front of 1,872 fans at the Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark.
The Generals scored in the top of the first inning to take a 1 - 0 lead. The Bombers scored three runs in the bottom of the inning with two outs to take the lead for good. The Bombers added another run in the second inning and two more runs in the sixth.
Former A&M Consolidated Tiger Brannon Easterling got the win for the Bombers. He pitched eight innings and gave up just one run on two hits.
The Bombers will be on the field at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark Sunday night at 7:05 to face the Alexandria Aces.
