Bobblehead Give Away Part of Season Opening Festivities For Brazos Valley Bombers Next Week

BRYAN, TX -- The Bombers have given away 3 Bobbleheads over their first four seasons and for the 5th Anniversary season the team has decided to step up the Bobble fun and will have 11 different Bobblehead nights at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark. Opening Week includes an Angry Bird character Bobblehead giveaway from the phone app phenomenon, the first of 6 Angry Bird giveaways. The second game of the year continues the Bombers’ Bobble Mania by giving away talking bobbleheads of the character Alan from the new movie “The Hangover 2”.

Adding to the intrigue for the upcoming season are the local players on the Bombers roster. The team features five players from Sam Houston State and Texas State. Bearkat players include Mike Hilliard, who posted a 6.48 ERA, Andrew Massey, who recorded a 3.86 ERA, John Hale, who hit.278 with 15 RBI, and Greg Olson, a Bomber veteran, who registered .303 batting average and finished second on the team with 41 runs scored in collegiate play. The lone Bobcat is Garrett Shepherd who had 11 K’s in 9 appearances on the mound this season.

The additional local celebrity Bobbleheads will be unveiled at the Bombers Media luncheon on Tuesday at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark.
