Bryan-College Station, TX (August 10, 2013)- The pressure wasn't an issue as the Bombers eliminated the East Texas Pump Jacks from the playoffs.
The Bombers got ahead early and never looked back with the opening run being scored in the 2nd inning off Graham McIntyre’s RBI single. That would be the only run until the 5th inning where the Bombers really poured it on. Cody Lovejoy tripled early in the inning to get his first RBI of the playoffs. The second run of the inning was added after the Pump Jacks pitcher threw a wild pitch. Patrick McClendon later singled to left bringing in two more runs for the Bombers making their lead 5-0.
The Bombers tacked on another run in the 6th after G.R. Hinsley hit a double to bring in Lovejoy making the score 6-0. The Pump Jacks couldn't get anything going against Parker Ray who threw an outstanding game for the Bombers. Ray went the complete distance only giving up five hits and striking out 14. His performance was by far the best of his season. The Bombers move on to the championship series against the Victoria Generals. It is a best of three match-up, with the first game in Victoria and the final two at home for the Bombers.
The Bombers will face the Victoria Generals on Monday, Aug 12, 7:05 P.M. at American Momentum Bank Ballpark.
