Bryan-College Station, TX (November 11, 2010) – The accolades keep coming in for the Brazos Valley Bombers. The team received the “Highest Percentage of Growth in Attendance” award at the Summer Baseball Conference ‘10 Awards Gala Presented by Baseball America over the weekend in Madison, WI. The Bombers averaged 1,609 fans in 2010, 18th best in all of summer collegiate baseball. The Bombers’ 31.45% increase in attendance over the past two seasons represents the highest percentage increase among the more than 400 teams in contention from across the nation.
“This award really should go to all of our fans the past few seasons for always being so supportive and loyal when it comes to Bombers baseball,” said Chris Clark, Bombers General Manager. “It is so exciting to be in the presence of franchises from around the nation that have helped establish the industry and what we represent. I wish that our fans were able to be here to participate because they are the ones that truly deserve to be recognized.”
The award recognition comes on the heels of the Bombers setting a team and Texas Collegiate League attendance record during the 2010 season and also setting a team record for wins in a season with 32.
The Bombers are planning for another big season in 2011, the 5th year anniversary of Bombers Baseball.
