The Bombers beat the TCL-leading East Texas Pump Jacks 4-1 on Wednesday night to start the second half of the season. Like the first half, the teams with the two best records in the second half of the season will make the playoffs, which makes the victory even sweeter.

The Bombers were led with a gem of a pitching performance by starter Alec Mills. Mills carried a no hitter into the 6th inning, and left the game having thrown 8 innings of 3 hit ball, while striking out 10 Pump Jack batters and allowing just one unearned run to score. Garrett Shepperd came on in the 9th to record his 7th save of the season.

At the plate the Bombers were paced by catcher John Cannon, who has really been seeing the ball well as of late. Tonight he went 2-2 with a triple and 1 run batted in. First baseman Jacob House made his first appearance at home with the team this season, going 2-4. House returns to the Bombers after helping Texas A&M advance to the College World Series.

The win is a great way for the Bombers to open their 4 game home stand. They'll finish their series with the Pump Jacks Thursday night at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark, before taking on the Alexandria Aces in front of the home fans at the end of the week. Thursday night is Chocolate Lover's Night at the ballpark, featuring a chocolate giveaway. It's also Thirsty Thursday, where fans can enjoy dollar beers and soft drinks all night long. On Friday the Bombers will team up with the George Bush Presidential Library to honor the Red Dress Exhibit , with Red Dress pins and t-shirt giveaways. The team will welcome the famous Reggy the Purple Party Dude to the ballpark for Kids Free Saturday, presented by Chicken Express.
